The Basic Blackjack Skill

Casino gambling would be incomplete without Blackjack. It is because blackjack is one of the simplest and fastest card games. We don't have to master the art of bluffing unlike in poker. For us to win, all we have to do is to pray that we get a card total of 21.

Once we sit down and decide to play, the banker will give us two cards. The cards given to us are referred as our hand. If in our first two cards we get a 21 then we already win that blackjack round. In casino language, our two cards are described as natural (or a natural hand).

However, if you don't get a 21, we can still win depending on how we are going to play. Typically, in blackjack there are three key strategies after the two cards are dealt. First, we can take another card, which in blackjack referred as a hit. There is no limit on how many cards you will take. However, if you go beyond 21 then you automatically lose your bet or as blackjack players say… it is a bust. If we are confident that our cards will beat the dealer, then there is no need for us to make a hit. We simply stand as our second option, (as used in casino lingo). Assuming that we get a pair of deuce, and then we can go for the third option, which is to split them up.

Separating the two cards will require us to pay an additional bet. It is because they will be treated as two different hands. So in our example, we have a pair of two's. Then we decide to split them up. We have to place an additional bet so that the banker will give us additional two cards. The first card will be paired to the first deuce and the second card to the other.

Again we have two different hands. However, the question if we can still make a hit, split or we just have to stand depends on the Casino rules.

Before there was fourth option, which early blackjack players recalled as surrender. As the term implies, surrender means to give up your bet and that blackjack round. However, according to them, when a player surrendered that person would only lose half of his bet.

Many gambling dwellings have found it less profitable so they remove this option.
